Developments at MRC :
A NEW short stay pontoon has been installed during spring 2010, which has 6
deep water berths for loading and watering. It is close to car and dinghy parking
and at the closest shore position to the moorings.
The introduction of this temporary loading pontoon is a significant stage in the
development of Barcaldine Marine. We currently have 50 swinging moorings and
our plan is to extend this to 100 as demand for moorings increases.
The availability of the pontoon adjacent to waterside car parking and installed with
freshwater supply, WiFi, and night lighting will compliment the existing range of
services available. Barcaldine Marine has been established as a winter storage facility for 10 years offering indoor and outdoor
storage options, the afloat facilities now give the complete year round package for the yacht owner seeking a base on the west
coast of Scotland

THE FACILITIES

in the Marine
Industry
The development of facilities at Barcaldine Marine, Loch
Creran, continues with the construction of a short term
berthing and landing pontoon to improve the service to
yachts on long term moorings, and to visitors.
Located close to existing waterside car parking, the new
pontoon has been recently constructed by Fusion Marine,
who are based at the Marine Resource Centre, home of
Barcaldine Marine.
The hammerhead arrangement will provide temporary
berthing for up to 6 vessels at a time allowing ease of
access for loading/unloading. The pontoon is moored in
deep water and has 3m of depth at low water.
Barcaldine Marine currently has 50 deep-water swinging
moorings in a minimum depth of 6m. These are
professionally laid and serviced and are suitable for vessels
up to 11.6m in length or 15 tonnes gross weight, although
larger or heavier vessels can be accommodated on request.
In addition visitors' moorings are available for occasional
overnight use.
